Not sure if the problem is with blogger.com or with the slow connections from this end so I've emailed the pictures through to Mike to see if he has better luck from his end...

Meanwhile OTE have been fiddling in the box behind the kiosk and once again all our phones are ringing in unison instead of each number separately. Sigh.

Thank you Mike! You're a *!

Now if someone can just evict the gremlin in our telephone lines... :?:

Courgettes are a good one to grow because they are really fast and produce a lot of food per plant - and they look pretty too. Once they get going each plant produces between 4 and 6 courgettes a day as long as one keeps picking them. :)

Courgette fritters, baked courgettes, stuffed courgettes, courgette moussaka, courgette bread, stuffed courgette flowers... :geek:

And the surplus feeds a lot of friends!

I feel a courgette fritter dish coming on our menu, it really flies out the door.

I'm planning on planting some courgettes next year when we move into our new house (has a garden and everything:)

In the meantime, I'm happy to report that I have a superb crop of tomatoes on my apartment balcony in grobags.

Hi Sunshine,

Well we do tend to have chairs and tables dotted around the place for the convenient consumption of liquid refreshment depending on which bit of the garden currently requires admiring!

No courgettes this year but I hope you didn't have as many cucumbers as we did. Our neighbours have gone into hiding to avoid being offered 6 or 7 a day. There's only so much tsaziki one can eat.

Hi Richard,

If the cucumbers go bananas (?!) I might have a go at making bread and butter pickles. One of my neighbours on the dock in Larnaca used to make excellent ones and gave me her recipe.

The last time we had a glut of cucumbers we had just rescued a tortoise and he loved them. :)
