Symi by night!

The Symi's just docked beneath the window with all the usual excitement. The Laskarina luggage is in a heap on the quay, waiting to be loaded aboard. The boat is about 45 minutes late so truckers and taxis have been hanging about for quite a while and tempers are frayed. :?

This will be us on Wed the 13th. As we are just above the SV office this year we will call in for a photo call. It might just be us on a heap with the Laskarina luggage if I sample too much oozo on the crossing.

We're just waiting for the pizza to arrive :P - it's newspaper night and we're all 'burning the midnight oil'.

Lots of gulets lined up under the balcony, lights in the cockpits and the amiable tinkle of cold things in glasses. The inhabitants occasionally look up to admire the cherubs on our ceiling... We often leave the lights on at night in the summer so that people can admire the paintings.

Hmm... Rachael does a mean pizza...Yum :)

The Aurora megayacht docked outside the police station has a helicopter on the afterdeck...makes an interesting silhouette against the whitewashed wall behind.

Why, oh why, did you have to mention Rachael and Vassilis' pizzas? Now I have a HUGE craving for their pizzas and spaghetti carbonara with garlic bread......guess I will just have to wait a couple of years for my next "fix" - hope you're all having a good Summer. We are "in winter" here in NZ, but the temps are still up in the high teens and its normally sunny every day 8-) so we can't really complain.

Lots of love

Hi Maggie...

Look on the bright side. At least you're buying legs of lamb 'at source'!

And you have green grass all year round... :)

Take care and keep in touch.

All of us at the Symi Visitor XXXX

That's why New Zealand is full of three-legged lambs ......... when the stuff tastes that good, you don't want to eat 'em all at once, do you ? ;)

If you should ever meet Gail on Symi, you must ask her about sitting by the water's edge with a cold beer in Koroni down south-west of Kalamata - in particular "the one-legged cat" ! :D

We still fall about laughing two years later - well, I do. Hence the regular :?
