We're looking forward to Symi in September so we can cool off! London is unspeakable - it's not the heat but the humidity which is so wearying. Lunch in a London square surrounded by hundreds of others just isn't the same as the taverna at Nanou/a Triton barbeque with cool beers and a swim to follow.
Yes, we were taught in school in SA that no part of the UK is more than 70 miles from the sea. Where do you go to cool off on hot days? Or is this so unusual no one knows quite what to do?!
Cheeky! We do go to the seaside but 70 miles in a hot car with two kids is not always my idea of a nice day out! Plus Formby sands is not exactly St. Nicks either! Luckily our back garden is very cool and shady from about midday onwards which has been lovely these past few weeks. We are off to the Dales for a week tomorrow and the kids will no doubt be swimming in the rivers there - if there are any rivers left to swim in that is!
It is really amazing how the weather can change overnight in this country. Last night is was 20c, we where in the zoo and had a wonderful time with the kids. Today it's raining and about 23c. Looks like hubby will have to mow the lawn this weekend
Here in sunny Rhodes the weather is great ,i've been spending most time at the beach at Afandou and touring each night around ,tommorow we arrive at Symi and i'm so looking forward to it
