Welcome to the new Symi Chat

So you found us! Well done and welcome :D

Please have a wander around and see what you think.

All the same forums are here and we are moving over most of the old posts so hopefully very little will be lost.

If you got here by following the link in the email you received then you should have an account already set up for you and you will be able to log in using your old user name and the password in the email.

Once you are logged in you are free to post just as you did before. The process is very similar:
Go to the forum you want to post in, "Symi Chat" for instance, and click the "New topic" button at the top of the page. That will take you to the "Post a new topic" screen which is fairly self-explanatory. Just enter the subject of your post and then type away to your heart's content in the main white area in the middle of the screen. You can add Smilies from the display on the right, just as on the old board. You can also make your text bold or italic or underlined etc. by highlighting it with your mouse and then clicking one of the icons above the text are, again just like the old board.
If you want to see how your post will look just click the "Preview" button at the bottom of the screen. That will show you a preview of your post above the text area. You can edit the text and click "Preview" as many times as you like before finally clicking the "Submit " button.
It really is a lot simpler than I make it sound!

To reply to a topic just click the "Post reply" button at the top or bottom of the screen and off you go!

Have a play and see how you get on.

If you get stuck try clicking the "FAQ" link at the top right. It is very helpful (MUCH better than on the old forum!) and answers most questions. Or you can use the "Contact us" link to send us an email.

Thanks Allan - it's looking good! Thank you for all your hard work. Will have a "play" as you suggest and see how it goes but, as you say, it all seems very straightforward.
