Got our tickets for our holiday to Alonissos today and booked our holiday to Symi for 2011 today too 8-) . Think I am more excited about next year than this year! Decided to join the "up top" brigade. Have always stayed downstairs, but thought would give upstairs a wee try for a change. Look out Rainbow Bar the McSporrans are heading your way (not until September 2011 though  )

I booked for Symi in September 2011 last week. With the demise of many smaller holiday companys more people are likely to book with the big operators. I can't have newcomers hogging my favourite accommodation lol.

We booked for next September when we returned in July. Like MrsMcS we have moved upstairs!
After 18 years of harbour living, we stayed at Anastasias in July, loved it as "villagers" and booked straight away on return to ensure we got the one bedroom apartment for 2011.

Organised we may be Snoopy, but it still only gives us a year to train for the Kalistrata :(

Bit annoyed though as checked holiday out again this morning and it is cheaper than it was yesterday  Oh well never mind at least it is booked and all being well we will be back on Symi next year :D

So now, John and Kris, we know who it was who stole the one bedroom apartment at the Anastasia from us in September ;) Oh well will just have to make do with the Taxiarchis :D

Stole MrsMcS? I wish. Unfortunately we've only borrowed it for a fortnight!

You've got to plan ahead going to Symi from Scotland as there are so few flights, we booked our flat with Dinos for next June while we were there this year and our flights were booked within a few days of us getting home. This can backfire as we had both our Sept.08 and June 09 flights booked with xcel when they went to the wall a week before we were due to go on holiday, that was a fun week.

Mrs McS I'm sure you'll love Taxiarchis. Frank, Eva and family are wonderful hosts. Just returned after the 'umpteenth' visit there.

Thanks Sweet Sue. I am sure we will be more than happy with the Taxiarchis. It was a toss up between the Anastasia and the Taxiarchis, but Findlay wasn't keen to stay overnight in Rhodes which we would have had to do with Olympic, so Thomas Cook and the Taxiarchis it is. Having said that it is such early days that the flights could still change! As Oor Willie says you can't let the grass grow for us Scots as there is so little choice. One must strike while the iron is hot :D

No such luck, Peter. You'll have exhausted your yearly allowance well before that... and don't think for one moment that you can have any of mine

As you say, Benedetti, hope Yiannis's stock of Drambuie will be well replenished as a fortnight of Findlay frequenting the Rainbow bar will sorely deplete it :( . Does he do strawberry daquiris! :P Will miss my strawberry daquiri nightcap at the Harani

I was once taking some greek yoghurt up to our room in the Rainbow for my girlfriends very severe sunburn. Yiannis helpfully suggested it was better with honey. I'm still not sure why... :?:

Honey is a natural antiseptic and very good for burns, Kojak, so I don't think Yanni was making improper suggestions... ;)
