"The National bank in Alonissos was held up today in an armed robbery, the thieves escaped with cash by speedboat."

"Its unbelievable what has happened there, and what they have got away with. No-one caught, despite the police, coastguard and a helicopter. Its like the Italian Job ........."

Here's Findlay and I thinking we are going to a nice wee quiet island. I don't know, you don't hear of such things happening on Symi!! :o

Reportedly they got away with 1 million euros, hope the bank replenish's its cash stocks before 8th September!

I think in general you will see an increase in crime in Greece ,with unemployment on the rise and financial situation in the country ,people will become more desperate.

It is a sad sign of the times, but unfortunately I think you are right Kon, and I think it could be a worldwide problem. When people get desperate they resort to desperate measures.
