Anyone getting this problem

Postby Buzzy » 08 May 2010, 20:07

Every time I go to this site in the last few days my AVG virus scan says that it is infected and slows down. Is this just me or anyone else had this?

I've had a few reports like this: try clearing your cache, reloading the site and it should solve the problem.

Yes, I had the same. Warned me of a buffer overload which I think is something to do with old tories shouting about the good old days.

Seriously, I did mention this to our esteemed mods - and it would seem to be at your end, folks.

Nothing received here!

I haven't had any problems with the chat page site ( ) but I have had occasional spurious messages about 'missing plugins' on the main Symivisitor home page over the last week or so. I've no idea what's causing that.

I've been getting the odd pop-up showing Java 6 loading which sometimes freezes the screen. My Java's up to date...

I was getting the same message, Kojak. Seems to be fine this morning - I did a cache clear as suggested but it seems odd that a few of us were getting the same thing.

Triffids coming back, perhaps?

Sorry, Allan; though I'd copied the PM to you as well as Mille.

Had no problems here at all. Maybe using a different browser would help? I view the site using Firefox, sometimes Opera or Chrome.
Cannot think of the last time I used Internet Explorer as I find it too buggy when viewing websites.
Would be good to know what browsers members are using when viewing the site and see who gets the problem.

(Hi StDavid - don't think we've met although I've used your railway station in Exeter)

I use Internet Explorer which doesn't give me any "buggy" problems so the Java 6 pop-up doesn't seem to be an IE only problem. Clear today though.

I'm using Chrome as Firefox has completely slowed down recently. Site seems to be working better today.

I'm definitely not a "techie" so nervous about changing providers from the one I've always used. If something went wrong I'd be well and truly b*****d! :o

Hi :) .
I read the site a lot but most of my questions have been answered in previous topics, but I do like to read the chat on here.
We are arriving on Symi on June 23rd for two weeks,
First time for both of us but no strangers to Greece.
Hoping and preying for westerly or south westerly winds to keep the ash away for the UK and keeping fingers crossed for no strike action.
I have been stuck in Greece at least five times over the years due to strikes, if only we did not have to spend the time waiting at the airports.
I live next to Saint Davids college which is where I borrowed the name from.

I'm a bit disappointed now, StDavid. I had hoped you were Paddington's long-lost sibling.

Hope the ash goes before you travel. If it looks as if it's still going to be around when we go in September, I'm planning to nick that thing they're trying to stop the oil leak with. It doesn't seem to be working there, but I reckon it'll fit quite neatly over the top of Eyjafjallajokul (pause for admiring comments on spelleing).

Everyone in Australia are rich and can afford a Mac. All my Australian family and all my Australian friends on Facebook own one!
Cannot afford it myself.

I'm not getting the same problems as you are but every time I log on to this site my Norton anti virus tells me it has blocked an attack on my computer and when I click on for details the attack is coming from my own computer, this only happens when I log on to SV no other site generates this reaction from Mr Norton maybe it knows I was a Triumph owner
