Thanks Mazie, I shall have a drop (or maybe two) of the Macallan (12 years old) to celebrate. But I have a concern about the diet proposed by our fellow celebrates (No, not celibates) the mince and tatties are fine, BUT there's nae mention o'neeps, an fit aboot some ingons in the mince :?: I have one advatage in being 7 hours adrift from Scotland, I shall still be quaffing the Macallan when the "natives" are snoozing (or in an alcholic stupor) :geek: It certainly is nice to celebrate St Andrew, St George or St David rather than drinking green beer :geek:

 Eleanor you have been drinking the wrong 'malt' - a good malt cures ALL ills and should be smooth and warming from your nose to your toes. Avoid the peaty malts - only for true and hardened Scots - try a wee drop of Gelnfiddoch or a tot of The Macallan - almost as good as a Mataxa!! Nearly but not quite. :D  :)

I must be a "true and hardened Scot" as I had a couple of Isle of Jura's and followed up with a Laphroig and my keyboard was ok and I was up bright and breezy scraping the frost off the car at 7 am long live the peaty malts

Ay, there are all the tourists out there properly admiring the lochs, the towns and villages and the wondeful castles of Scotland, but there is little doubt that top of the attractions are the Glens. Glenfiddoch , Glenfarclas, Glenlivet, Glendronach etc: Even those poor folks who have never had the privilege of visiting Scotland, know the Glens! Affa nice wie a bitty o' Walkers shortbread :geek:
