14 weeks and counting

Sitting out having a coffee on a slightly cold morning in June (!!) and realising, with glee, that in 14 weeks and 3 days we will be back on Symi. We count ourselves very lucky.
My nephew's girlfriend is visiting Symi for the first time today - her and her mum are on holiday in Rhodes and are going over on a day trip. I've warned my neph. that he will be with her on holiday in Symi next year as the 'Symi bug' is bound to get to her :D

Hi

12 weeks and 3 days for us so I guess we'll be leaving as you arrive - 30th September??

If it's only slightly cold where you are you're lucky. It's b****y freezing here in North Yorkshire!! We always look forward to our annual Symi fix but, if the weather here doesn't improve soon, I'm just going to give up on the British summer and hibernate until September.

Thanks by the way for your wonderfully gastronomic live posts when visiting Symi. I can usually visualise exactly where you are and what you're eating when I read them - almost as good as being there. No, I'm fibbing, it just makes me jealous  but I still enjoy.

Sincerely hoping that our favourite island survives whatever the Greek government and the EU throw at her (is Symi female?) - I'm sure that our euros, purchased a while ago when the rate was really good, will still be welcome whatever happens.

Happy holidays!

Sue

Yes Sue - we'll be in Rhodes on the 30th and boat to Symi on 1 October. At least we'll be there for a month between us spending euros on more lovely food no doubt :D Very much hope things work out for Greece and Symi - she's (?) such a special island with such lovely people. Thanks for reading the blog - we enjoyed writing it.

Just 4 weeks now, I thought when I saw your post Kojak that we might have been there at the same time. From the picture posted by the Symi Visitor team, it looks like you will have to go in via the back door, the steps up to the Anastasoula look a bit crowded. Poor people.

I think it might injure fewer people if I do go up the next steps along.
