We've responded to the pleas from Symi businesses and have booked flights and accommodation 23.September to 10 October. Who else might be there?

All being well I will have been and gone before you get there Julia. The flights are booked for early September and my plan is to turn up at the airport at the appointed time and play it by ear from then.

Like many other people, I've considered the balance between having a holiday and, potentially, risking the health of the islanders. It was a very tricky decision but, like you, I saw the plea to not put off the holiday until next year and that made the decision easier.

For those who haven't seen it, this is what helped:

Like Allan, we too should be be on our way home as Julia arrives. Flights have been booked since last year and we're now starting to think this year's trip might actually go ahead. Fingers not yet being uncrossed though.

All being well we should be in Symi from 10th - 23rd September. The loss of the Sebeco for the season is a nuisance - there's only a SAOS ferry on our arrival day, and Andy's blog tells us that they can't always be relied upon. Hoping we don't have to spend an additional night in Rhodes & less time in Symi :-|
