Be careful if you book your holiday over the Web, especially if you are going to Rhodes. See the "Bad spelling" article in today's Katherimini:

A friend of mine went to a travel agent to organise a trip to Dacca, Pakistan/Bangladesh to visit another mutual friend. He was greatly surprised to land in Africa! Fortunately the agents admitted their mistake and he eventually got to the right destination. Here's an excerpt from a spoof "Horrorscope" I wrote a few years ago..

"Sagittarius"
Your star sign may be the archer but your aim is way off. The only bow you possess is the one in your hair. You thought you were going to Rhode Island USA. Get the first ferry back and next time read your airline ticket.

Mind you the inaptly named Accuweather site not only says Rhodes is in the Sporades but is giving the weather forecast for the Sporades, not the Dodecanese.

Please add about 5 degrees to all the temperatures given!

Does that mean I won't need my umbrella this year?

LOL, this thread made me check my booking papers!

I have a nifty thing on my desktop showing the current weather at Rhodes Airport. 27 degrees and partially clouded.

I think it's from wunderground. Would be nice to have a weather station on the top of the SV office tho :)

This is the link I use
(sorry can't get it to turn blue and underline thingy)....comparing it with what Adriana tells us in her news postings, it seems quite accurate. :(

It was Greek milk! - everyone knows that! I'm a great fan of dairy products. The umbrella wasn't for me - it was just to stop my "milk" getting diluted, :P

Mazie, try hitting the preview button before posting. Then you can see how it will look on the page It also gives you one last chance to remove the more embarrassing mistakes. Saved me a few times.

There's a theory that extremely small doses of poison help you build up a resistance - I'm just taking a crash course! :geek:

I don't know about the effectiveness of the Kojak concept of taking extremely small doses of poison creating a resistance, but it works with alcohol so why not with poison :geek: I've tried it with alcohol, so why don't you try the poison Kojak and report back 8-) :D :geek:
