Oh dear, it looks like the webcam has swivvled again  .....there's just a boring picture of a boat to look at  . Shame because we had the perfect view beforehand.

That's brilliant :D .....thank you Adriana  .

Must be a pain folks like me moaning about what I can and can't see all the time  ....trouble is I'm so addicted to the webcam  , when it's not there, I get withdrawal symptoms.....so you see, it's only because I appreciate it so much that I comment.

The pointy bit in the bottom right hand corner is the bow of the Callisto which is driving everyone potty with her noisy generators at the moment. It is a bit like being inside an industrial vacuum cleaner.

Oh dear  .......did worry I was being a moan bag but you've just made me feel better knowing that others may wish to have a different view of the harbour i.e. minus the Callisto!

Hope you soon return to tranquility :) .

Sorry about the strange angle of the webcam this morning, folks.

The storm that hit us at 6 am sheered it straight off its mountings and it was dangling forlornly by its cable when I came in this morning. It is now chocked with stones until the rain stops and another plan can be made

I can see it's another wet day   on beautiful Symi  , would still rather be there than in the sunshine here though.

It's sunny in Oxfordshire although there are plenty of clouds starting to form. It's strange that now we have moved to the autumn, our weather seems much more settled than it did during the summer months.

Blus skies and sun here, although it's cold. I'm now trying to warm up as I've been house sitting for a friend who's central heating became unsafe hours after British Gas serviced it! So I spent the entire morning in a cold house, waiting for yet another gas service engineer to arrive. Strangely enough, the heating system had worked perfectly until it was "serviced"! Isn't life wonderful!

So comforting to know you can depend (not) on a good service from our utility industries isn't it?

Of course with access to I can't remember how many thousands of engineers as a BG service agreement customer, you shouldn't have to wait too long  !

Adriana, I'm being Little Miss Nosey here, that boat moored up just down from the Symi Visitor at the moment appears to have a small crane/winch type attachment, what does this boat bring to the island or is it a fishing boat? No doubt it's a regular visitor but I can't recall if I've seen it when I've been staying on the island.

Morning all! :(

It's not just a dodgy plug - the island's power supply is a little deranged at the moment with the stormy weather and there were a few lightning strikes earlier in the week. Then yesterday the internet went down - we could only get .gr websites, the rest of the world was inaccessible.

Welcome to winter in the last outpost of Europe!

But at least we don't have a 3 metre North Sea storm surge to worry about... :P

Thanks for the update, Adriana :)

We're expecting the storm to hit us this afternoon and I'm about to go out and save what can be saved from the garden :o

Why cant humans hibernate like the bears?!
